However all students are required to pay a Resource Fee, which covers registration by certifying bodies, student services, books and equipment where the item purchased becomes your personal property. COURSE DEFERRALCourse deferral occurs when a learner seeks to defer the college place they were offered. A written application, requesting permission to commence the programme in the following academic year, must be made to the Principal before 3. August. The learner must include, in the application, evidence of meeting the entry requirements. DELAYED PROGRAMME COMPLETIONDelayed Programme Completion may arise where a learner has registered for a programme but does not complete the programme for any reason. When a learner becomes aware that heshe will not complete the current year they may apply to delay completion of the programme, that is to return the following September and complete in the following academic year. There is no automatic right to a delayed programme completion. A written application must be made to the principal explaining the specific circumstances. Each case is examined on itsmerits by the college. Permission will not be granted to delay completion for more than one year. Learners recommencing are liable for the full resource fees. REPEATING A YEARIn certain cases, at the end of an academic year, a learner who has not completed the programme may apply to repeat the year. There is no automatic right to repeat.
